It would be no exaggeration to say that sex plays one of the most significant roles in a relationship. Be it anyone – men or women, everyone needs it to ward off stress and also to bring intimacy in your relationship. Having sex produces the feel-good hormone called oxytocin which makes us feel alive, happy and satisfied.
WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS:
Perhaps sex has a list of benefits to a human body, some of them you might not be aware of. Having sex once a week helps in lowering your blood pressure and strengthening your muscles. According to a study, couples who are more involved in sexual activities are less stressed and have a stronger immune system than those who don’t. Some of the other benefits include: increasing libido, increasing heart health, reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and hypertension etc.
WHAT THE STUDY SAYS:
According to a study conducted by the scientist Todd Kashdan and his colleagues, it was revealed that sex not only makes you feel good physically but also adds meaning to your life, helping you to lift your spirits and making you feel good from inside. However, it has also been said from 2010 to 2016 Americans had sex nine times lesser than what they had before 2010. And perhaps, it is likely due to the overload of work and new forms of entertainment sources coming in the post-digital era.
HOW MANY TIMES YOU SHOULD DO IT:
While having sex once a week is optimal for mental and physical happiness, a couple can involve themselves in sexual intercourse for an end number of times if it keeps them happy and satisfied. An average couple, though, seeks happiness by just having sex only once a week. It’s not the frequency but the intimacy which matters.
