Three Policemen Including, Two Special Police Officers, Killed In Kashmir
Three police officers were kidnapped by the terrorists and, later, killed in the Shopian district of south Kashmir on Thursday. Of the Three Policemen, two of them were special police officers. Apparently, the terrorists barged into the officers’ houses and dragged them out, said the police.
Besides the three officers, the terrorists had also kidnapped a policeman’s brother whom they released on Friday. The four had been kidnapped from the Shopian’s Kapran village.
“We have lost 3 of our brave colleagues in a barbaric terror strike. Our tribute to the 3 martyred jawans, Nisar Ahmad, Firdous Kuchay and Kulwant Singh,” Kashmir police tweeted.
Perhaps, no terrorist group has taken the responsibility for the inhuman act till now, however, terror group, Hizbul Mujahideen, earlier, had posted a video in which he told the officers that they must resign or get prepared to be killed. The former had given one last warning to the special police officers to quite the anti-terror operation by 19th September.
Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti lashed at the central government, condemning the inhuman act. “Dialogue, the only way forward seems to be a distant dream for now”, Mehbooba takes a dig the government in her tweet.
“Three more policemen have lost their lives to militant bullets. Outrage, shock & condemnation will be expressed by all of us on expected lines. Unfortunately, it brings no solace to the families of the victims… Dialogue, the only way forward seems to be a distant dream for now,” she tweeted.
