Three-Storey Building Collapses in Ashok Vihar, Five Dead and Seven injured
A three-storey building collapsed in the North Delhi Ashok Vihar area on Wednesday, 26 September. The building is, reportedly collapsed in Ashok Vihar Phase 3 near Sawan Park.
As per the PTI report, 5 people including one woman and four children lost their lives, while at least eight people have been injured. Among the dead was a woman identified as Munni, two brothers aged 10 years, and one brother and sister aged 5 years.
Two teams of NDRF reached the spot to undergo the rescue operations. Eight people who have been rescued are admitted to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital and are still in a critical condition. Sources are claiming that some of the causalities are still feared trapped under the debris.
Reportedly, rescue teams rushed to the spot with six fire tenders, as soon as the call was received to them.
According to a senior North Delhi Municipal Corporation official, the building was 20 years old and the structure was in a very deteriorated condition.
